Learn to Make, Create Your Own, & Get Your Fill -- Creole Cuisine

Monday March 30, 2020   10:30am – 1:30pm    New Orleans School of Cooking welcomes our ladies (and/or gentleman / growing kids) to the Fun, Food & Folklore of the New Orleans!  Since 1980, they have introduced countless visitors from around the world to the wonderful food and rich culture of New Orleans and Louisiana.  Their entertaining cooking classes and Louisiana General Store are located in a renovated molasses warehouse built in the early 1800s in the heart of the French Quarter, at 524 St. Louis Street.  We will learn the basics of Louisiana Cooking in a way you’ll never forget.  Fun is a primary ingredient in the kitchen for our private 3 hour hands on cooking class, where we will be taught by a Cajun / Creole chef, while he seasons our meal with history, trivia and tall tales, as we will prepare a4-course New Orleans meal.  The third hour of “class” will be when we indulge in the meal we have prepare.

During or after lunch you will have time to shop in the General Store.  They have a large collection of products used and loved by the school chefs.  After lunch you will be on your own to either transfer back to the Higgins Hotel  or wonder about shopper’s paradise, Royal Street.  This is a repository of grand, family-owned antique shops and fine art galleries, just a block, and yet a world away, from the party on Bourbon Street.  The street is a shopping and dining destination that stretches from Canal Street to Esplanade in the French Quarter.  Wander into its many unique stores.  Royal is also where you can dine in hidden courtyards and visit historic city landmarks.  Be sure to stop on your stroll and enjoy the music that street musicians play every day and night.  And because Royal Street is also where New Orleanians have lived and thrived for generations, you might pass by beautiful private homes, small grocery stores, and other landmarks in a neighborhood buzzing with life.

Lady’s Day Out:   $ 170.00 Per Person   Our Cooking Class & Meal are all-inclusive.

Gratuity, beer. Wine, taxes.   Transportation to/from (uber/taxi/stroll).

We hope to see each of you in New Orleans in March.
